After a very long break I am back to using oil paint, I had forgotten how vivid the colours can be and the ease of blending  colours together. This is the first in a series of three and I will post the other 2 in a few days.

Back to the birds and coloured pencil, I still have the intention of painting every bird common to Ireland, however I think my production needs a boost. 

Magpie Morning

Soft pastel and pastel pencils on pastel paper.

I thought I would go back to the bird paintings for a while, so tried this one with pastels. Not a superstitious person but the old chant "one for sorrow , two for joy" came to me, so put the other one in on the ground.
