Sketchbooks

Here are a couple of pages from my sketch books, I spent a long time sketching the wagtail in the field and then worked them up when i got home with some coloured pencil. The stonechat was done fairly quickly with a black indelible pen, something I now use alot to sketch with because it forces you to be bold as you can't rub out. These are examples of successful sketches , I would'nt have room or the time to post all the unsuccessful pages!

  1. I love birds. I love your sketches of the birds. I have never heard the names of these birds before. You do a great job with the sketches. I am inspired!

  2. I would say these are very successful! Drawing birds from life is certainly difficult. It's hard to make them understand they need to be still for you! :D

  6. I just realized from your email address that you're from Ireland. =) I've been to Dublin and Galway twice, and loved it there! Too bad I've lost touched with my friends there.

It's really nice to have some Irish spirit in the group.
