Barrack Hill

IMG_9650-002

I can’t believe it’s a month since I have posted on my blog. The time just seems to disappear! This is my latest pen and wash, “Barrack Hill” which is in Ballycotton, where I live. At the lastmoment I decided to put the old water pump in green and I think it works as it tends to pull you  through the picture. What do you think?

  3. Hello Phil,
These Ink and Wash drawings seem to get better and better. That bit of green does work - it's a great idea. As Alex says, the perspective is wonderful.
    I love it!

  4. Fabulous, Phil. The dark shadows and little touch of green really work well.

  5. This is really alive - the depth and light you manage to get out of the restricted palate is I think wonderful.

  10. This is a wonderful pen and wash rendering. I was also intrigued by the minuscule, but very effective use of green. Blessings!

  14. Your lovely painting inspired me to try some street scenes last week while on holiday in Pittenweem - they are not great but I wouldn't even have tried if I hadn't loved your piece so much! Thank you! All the best for a successful art festival!
