Back from the UKkk(thats me shivering)

“Play with us daddy!” Watercolour on arches paper.
This is the first effort from the sketches I put up on my last post, what do you think?
Was in UK for a few days for my sisters birthday. Bloody cold there, snow on the ground, my feet were frozen. –1 degree, I know for a lot of you guys in US this is wimpy, but flying from a veritable heatwave of 9c it was a bit of a shocker. Anyway had a great time.

I painted this for my sister, for her birthday, she will probably kill me for posting it , but I quite like it. We were in Buenos Aries in 2010 for her sons wedding and I took the reference photo at a flea market.

  2. Too many mistakes in the previous comment. Sorry. Not enough coffee in me.

Glad to see you used my favorite sketch. :) I hope your sister doesn't mind you posting the one of her. I like it too.

  3. I absolutely love the man on the bench with the dogs! I just did a similar subject-matter recently, but now, seeing this, I know how it's done! How big is it? And what kind of watercolors do you use? - love the vibrant color.

The one of your sister is mighty good too, by the way.

And, you are a brute, not a wimp. I am used to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I know very little about 1 digit temperatures, that's for sure.

  4. I really like the painting of your sister. Both are beautiful.
Your capture of the dogs and the man on the bench made me smile. My two dogs do the same to us when we aren't giving them our complete attention.
I am from NH in the US and it was 43 degrees today!! You are not thought of as a wimp by me. When the temp drops to single digits, I hibernate by the wood stove.
