Still suffering from painters block, but making myself sketch everyday, at least today I put colour in the sketch, thats a start !
This fella belongs to my wife and lives on top of the radio/cd player, I thought he must be very bored sitting in the same place everyday, so I let him sit on the window sill while I sketched him. I used a black ballpoint and then coloured pencil. My wife has already claimed the sketch for next years Christmas card, she’s really thinking ahead!
Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteLove the bear. I have a special bear that I usually sketch for blind contour Friday and that I love to sketch while looking.
I love how you use circular squiggles to indicate fur and hope you don't mind that I try that method.
xoxo
Hi Vicki, thanks for the comment, feel free to try try the squiggles, look forward to seeing the results..
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's definitely thinking ahead! I usually find myself a few weeks before Christmas thinking that if I'm going to do cards, I'd better find something to draw. Which, unsurprisingly, ends up with no cards being done.
ReplyDeleteI like the bear, and you've done a good job capturing his pose. I find stuffed animals difficult to draw a lot of times since their limbs don't have much definition, especially from certain angles.
It's a lovely sketch and a cuddly bear. I would like to have some drawings like this one for my christmas cards too!
ReplyDeleteI've seen your other works, and I love them!
Hugs!

Aww very sweet. You did a great job catching his soft and fluffiness. I really like how your 'Tabby' cat is coming out.
ReplyDeleteHe looks bored! Beautifully drawn - we do not always have to paint.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch! Maybe if I start thinking about Christmas cards now, I'll actually get them done in time and not end up sending New Year's cards!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice sketch of a very cute bear. Nice remedy for painter's block, too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little teddy! I have been surrounded by teddys lately. I see them everywhere :) Maybe because Valentine's day is coming soon
ReplyDeleteLovely teddy! He looks soft and huggable, great job!
ReplyDeleteYour wife is right, this will make a great Christmas card.
