This is Cloyne Cathedral, a church badly in need of maintenance. A local group has been formed to raise funds for it’s restoration and I promised a painting them to auction. I felt a pen and ink would be appropriate for an old building like this. What do you think?
Great job! I like very much Pen & ink artworks... and I really enjoy your details.
ReplyDeleteI like it very much! I'm very fond of pen and ink, and I particularly like the contrasts in this one.
ReplyDeleteThis would make a good postcard, Phil, that could be used to advertise the building's plight.
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice. I hope lots of money is raised to help restore this church...so sad to see these old places fall to ruin...
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice thing to do. I hope they raise lots of money.
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning! It is very appropriate, and I love the clarity of it, and the values. So well done.
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful and I love the idea of a postcard. nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Phil,
ReplyDeleteBlimey, you work quick. I keep missing your posts.
You know, you really have found a fantastically individual style with the pen and ink. And so much control over line and tone. The correct values make them look almost photographic but with more interest.
Stew.
