I have finally managed to finish a couple of paintings that have been hanging around a while. This is one that I posted the other day as a work in progress, I have changed it a good bit with the addition of the tree on the right and the Grey Heron in the foreground. There is actually another heron towards the rear but it’s small and doesn’t really show here. I’m still not totally happy with the work, as I don’t like the reflection of the outermost tree on the left , but to change this I would need to get rid of the tree and that could lead to problems, so I will pretend I’m happy and hope that nobody notices.
I would have thought the last one was done, but I really like the addition of the tree and especially the heron. It looked finished as it was, but this shows it was a wise decision to break up that empty area in the foreground. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou've made some good choices---I do this, too----see things I want to change in my own stuff... the bird added brings the eye into the scene ...
ReplyDeleteYour whole blog is full of beautiful artwork! This is one of many. I love the trees. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI think it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't think you could have made it any better but I was wrong. I not sure what you mean about the reflection - everything looks fantastic to me. Glad you pointed out the second heron, it's great. And the trees are amazing, silver birch that are just right.
ReplyDeleteI would love to able to do a silver birch as good on the painting that I'm trying to finish.
