Haven’t got round to posting for the last few days, and haven’t done a whole lot of painting either, time just seems to be slipping away. Will have to get a move on as an exhibition coming up at the end of April.
Thought I’d show a different side to my art today, every now and then I turn away from the representational and just throw paint.I love to see what happens when I just let the paint run and I love using primary colours, the more vivid the better. Never quite sure how to put a title on them though.
I'll help with titles :-) ---top one is "Whale Fire" and bottom one could be "Moose Muse"---at any rate they look exciting !
ReplyDeleteI am a colour person so these appeal to me. I see a turbulent setting sun over the ocean in the first one, but I really like Winnna's title of "Whale Fire". They are really different from your usual work. Interesting though.
ReplyDeletePhil, there's so much depth and fire to your colors! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou could always go with the ever-popular "Untitled #74." (Just kidding, I actually get annoyed when I see that an artist seemingly can't be bothered to tell you anything about their paintings through a title. Especially if it's for Every. Painting.) I also see a sunset in that first one, but what do *you* see in them?
ReplyDeleteTop one "storm at sea".
ReplyDeleteLike to see another side to you.
I actually see a sunset at sea in th first one, after I did the "sky", I realised it could become this and worked accordingly. I think the other one looks like volcanic larva
ReplyDeletePowerful pieces.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I can definitely see lava in that second one, now that you mention it.
ReplyDeleteHa ha I thought exactly what you were thinking Phil, then I scrolled down. The second one is definately lava flowing out on a dark night...we have several volcanoes here, so I've been able to see it happen.
ReplyDeleteI adore these strong contrasts and fiery colors =) They will draw a lot attention I am sure!
